Come meet the bees beyond the honeybee and discover the remarkable diversity buzzing right in our own backyards!
Georgia is home to hundreds of native bee species, each playing an important role in our ecosystems and gardens. Join Becky Griffin, Community and School Garden Coordinator, Pollinator Health Associate, and National Coordinator for the Great Southeast Pollinator Census, for this engaging program where participants will learn how to recognize some of Georgia’s most fascinating native bees, discover their unique behaviors and nesting habits, and explore simple ways to create a welcoming habitat for them.
STAY + EXPLORE!
Create a bee home for all our pollinator pals using special, untreated wood!
The Lunch + Learn lecture begins at 12:15 PM. No outside food is allowed but you are welcome to buy lunch in the Café and bring it into the lecture, or just come hear the lecture. All Lunch + Learns are FREE for museum members and included in regular admission for non-members. Presentations are recommended for ages 8 and up, unless otherwise indicated.
