- ➤ Cobb County Animal Services in Marietta features King, a male tan/white Jack Russell terrier in need of a forever home, with new appointment rules to manage pet visits. - ➤ Waldo, a one-year-old male white domestic short hair cat, is available for adoption at Cobb County Animal Services in Marietta, where appointments are preferred (walk-ins are welcome). - ➤ Rising temperatures in Cobb County have thawed frozen sprinkler systems, leading to over 75 repair calls since last Thursday, according to Fire Protection Services. - ➤ Georgia lawmakers advanced HB 1009, a bill banning cellphone use for public high school students from bell to bell starting in the 2027-28 school year; a House subcommittee approved it, and Marietta City Schools reported improved outcomes under a similar ban with exceptions for off-campus programs and e-readers.
