  • Marietta’s Cobb County Animal Services Shelter has named Wanda—a 3-year-old white Siberian husky weighing 69 lbs—as Dog of the Day. The shelter now prefers that visitors book appointments for pet visits while still welcoming walk-ins and owner surrenders by appointment.  Cobb County Courier
  • A female 1-year-old grey and white domestic short hair cat named Pig is available for adoption at Cobb County Animal Services in Marietta at 1060 Al Bishop Drive – she weighs 6 lbs and can be seen by scheduling an appointment online or walking in. The shelter asks pet parents to plan visits when possible to keep the process smooth.  Cobb County Courier
  • Community volunteer Barry Krebs submitted a report with photos from Sweetwater Mission's Annual Golf Tournament Fundraiser on March 20. The day started cold and windy but warmed up in the afternoon—raising funds to help the charity serve over 60,000 families amid rising grocery costs.  Cobb County Courier
  • Supporters for two fired Campbell High School basketball coaches (Coach Randy McClure and Coach James Gwyn) gathered at the Cobb County School Board meeting last night at 6:30 p.m. They rallied by wearing Campbell blue and circulating a petition (with nearly 3,500 signatures) while the district said it was investigating the matter.  WSB-TV

  • Community members at Campbell High are planning to address the school board after basketball coaches were fired this week — the dismissal sparked community outcry. The upcoming meeting will give locals a chance to ask questions and seek clarity on the decision.  11Alive
  • After a groundbreaking ceremony on Wednesday, Kennesaw State University began construction on The Summit II, a residence hall covering almost 97000 square feet built for 460 students next to Summit I. The facility will feature double bedroom suites, study spaces and community areas and is set to open Fall 2026 to meet growing enrollment needs.  Cobb County Courier

  • Georgia Governor Brian P. Kemp will speak at the Cobb Chamber’s April Marquee event at Coca-Cola Roxy Theatre on Tuesday, April 15, where he will discuss legislative session updates and economic development with First Lady Marty Kemp and Stephen Vault + registration is open until April 10 with tickets at $50 for members and $75 for non-members.  Cobb County Courier
