COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The Mableton Improvement Coalition (with help from City Councilwoman Patty Auch, Friends Of Mableton and South Cobb Lions Club) removed 27 bags of litter and shopping carts from their adopted Floyd Road to keep the area clean.  Cobb County Courier

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Metro Atlanta hardware stores have warned that tariffs may raise prices on grills and other metal goods by up to 30%, so customers are urged to buy before costs increase. Intown Ace Hardware in Decatur said its large inventory helps keep prices stable for now + shoppers should act promptly to avoid future hikes.  11Alive

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • On Friday, the Cobb County Police Department held a ribbon-cutting for its $8.2 million Precinct 6 building near the Sandy Plains—Shallowford intersection, the first precinct in District 3. The facility currently houses a DUI task force and rotating reserve officers while full patrol coverage will come later as additional recruits are trained and assigned.  Cobb County Courier

HEALTH NEWS

  • From March 28 to April 3, the Georgia Department of Public Health inspected Cobb County restaurants and food services and assigned scores from 65 to 100. The inspections covered many facilities such as school cafeterias, hotels and dining spots — showing varied health standards across the county.  Cobb County Courier
