  • Walmart has proposed a drone hub at a nearby store in East Cobb and local neighbors have voiced concerns about its impact—residents want more details before any decisions are made.  WSB-TV

CULTURE NEWS

  • Marietta will celebrate America’s 250th anniversary in 2026 with yearlong events including a June exhibit at City Hall and festivities on July 3 and 4 (featuring a concert by Drivin N Cryin and the largest Let Freedom Ring Parade). Residents can expect community activities that highlight history and culture.  Cobb County Courier

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • The third annual Cobb County Sustainability Expo on April 10 saw county officials and civic groups spotlight recycling, electric vehicles, and eco-friendly soybean oil tires while local music and seminars energized the event — organizers lauded Sustainability Director Kimberly White for her commitment to greener practices.  Cobb County Courier

  • Arthur Blank’s women’s soccer club submitted plans for a new headquarters to the city, and the council will vote on rezoning the site soon in Marietta.  Marietta Daily Journal
  • Marietta City Council will review proposals for a 68-unit high-rise, a 48-home development and rezoning of an automotive repair shop on Wednesday, Apr. 15 + the meeting will shape plans for local development.  Marietta Daily Journal

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • Stonemont Financial acquired East Cobb Medical Center for $32.5 million on April 10. The purchase includes a 103,000 sqft facility (4800 Olde Towne Parkway) that houses outpatient services and supports the firm’s planned expansion (expected through 2026).  Cobb County Courier
