- ➤ Cobb Collaborative held a ribbon cutting ceremony at Ford Elementary School for a new Little Free Library—sponsored by United Way and dedicated to business leader Paul Donahue. The library is part of the group’s effort to give children easy access to books for reading. Cobb County Courier
- ➤ Marietta’s Cobb County Animal Services Shelter features Dog of the Day OTHELLO, a male brown/white American pit bull terrier aged 7 months and weighing 38 lbs who is available for adoption. The shelter now prefers scheduled appointments for pet visits & is located at 1060 Al Bishop Drive in Marietta. Cobb County Courier
- ➤ On April 13, Cobb residents joined Haven Of Help and its partners — including Kennesaw State students and Reid’s Deli — to distribute hundreds of blessing bags with hygiene items, snacks, food, clothing, and prayer in downtown Atlanta. Cobb County Courier

- ➤ The Cobb Chamber announced its 2025 Top 25 Small Businesses of the Year to honor firms that drive our local economy since the program began in 1982. The Small Business of the Year will be named on May 12 during the Marquee Monday awards luncheon at the Coca-Cola Roxy Theatre — winners were chosen after reviewing applications and site visits. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ On April 9, several dozen Kennesaw State University students protested plans to close resource centers that provide free menstrual products, multicultural foods, and other supports—claims critics say target marginalized groups. The administration said it would follow federal and state regulations while continuing to support student needs, but many remain concerned that the changes will leave vulnerable students without crucial services.
