ECONOMY NEWS

  • Gas prices in Georgia dropped by six cents over the past week to an average of $2.98 per gallon for regular unleaded—thanks to lower crude oil prices and reduced demand after Spring Break. Meanwhile, nationwide EV charging rates stayed at 34 cents per kilowatt-hour—per AAA’s report.  Cobb County Courier

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Pope High School Winter Guard traveled to Dayton+Ohio to compete at the Winter Guard International World Championships where they were named the 2025 Scholastic A World Champions.  Marietta Daily Journal

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Keep Cobb Beautiful hosted its Annual Spring Recycling event at Jim Miller Park where volunteers from Osborne High School Beta Club, Kennesaw State, and other local groups helped nearly a thousand drivers with wait times under 20 minutes. The team worked with recycling partners such as Shred-It Paper Recycling and Hefty Renew Bag Program—finishing the day with Chick-Fil-A sandwiches.  Cobb County Courier

HEALTH NEWS

  • The Georgia Department of Public Health released inspection scores for Cobb County restaurants and food services for the week of April 4 to April 10—Marietta eateries were among those inspected. Scores ranged from 70 to 100—with several establishments earning perfect marks.  Cobb County Courier

  • The Marietta City Council approved five townhomes on a half-acre lot just off Roswell Street — located across from the Marietta National Cemetery.  Marietta Daily Journal
