COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Marietta's Cobb County Animal Services Shelter features a grey tabby cat aged 2 available for adoption at 1060 Al Bishop Drive. Appointments are preferred, but visitors without one are welcome and pet visits can be scheduled at (770) 499 4136.  Cobb County Courier
  • More than 2,500 Cobb County students live without stable housing; about half stay in hotels, according to the Center for Family Resources. Fewer than 10% of qualifying families receive help & the nonprofit is working with the Marietta Housing Authority to secure more support.  WSB-TV

  • Trees, shrubs and lawns across Cobb County are suffering under a severe drought as parts of East Cobb enter extreme conditions with high fire danger warnings and advisories to water carefully.   • Cobb County Public Library partners with Vision To Learn to offer free eye exams and glasses (for children ages 5–18) at mobile clinics during summer break.
