- ➤ Velma is an 8-month-old female black tan rottweiler available for adoption at Cobb County Animal Services in Marietta. The shelter now prefers that visitors book an appointment while walk-ins for stray or lost pets are welcome (1060 Al Bishop Drive, Marietta). Cobb County Courier
- ➤ Merlot is a 2-year-old black domestic short hair cat in need of a loving home at Cobb County Animal Services Shelter in Marietta. The shelter prefers that potential adopters schedule appointments—although walk-ins are welcome—to better manage visits and staffing. Cobb County Courier
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ On Saturday, May 3 from 10 a.m. to noon, the Marietta History Center will hold a tombstone cleaning workshop at Marietta City Cemetery (420 West Atlanta Street). Collections Manager Christa McCay will lead the session to teach how to clean and preserve historic tombstones, and the fee is (non-members $25, members $15) with space limited to 20 participants and weather-dependent scheduling. - ➤ Most in-state students at Georgia’s public universities will pay the same tuition and fees next academic year as the Board of Regents kept rates level at 18 of 26 schools, while a few institutions saw slight fee increases.
