  • Georgia fuel prices have risen 23 cents over the past week to $3.85 per gallon as global oil market tension and spring travel boost costs. Local drivers may face continued increases, and experts advise planning ahead to manage expenses.  Cobb County Courier
  • A coalition of industry groups, labor organizations and rail competitors opposes the Union Pacific — Norfolk Southern merger, saying it could raise costs and reduce competition.   • The report shows six states had gas prices over $5 on Monday as the national average climbed slightly to $4.46, while Georgia kept the lowest at $3.86. Governor Kemp suspended gas and diesel taxes until May 19 (measures aimed at easing fuel costs for local drivers).  11Alive

  • Georgia tax refund checks are going out today as part of routine state processing, and Marietta residents are advised to check their bank accounts (delays may occur).  11Alive
