  • Cobb County has released a list of local farmers’ markets that offer seasonal produce and artisan goods — the list includes Marietta Square, held every Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon at 41 Mill Street.  Cobb County Courier

CRIME NEWS

  • A convicted felon from Marietta was arrested and charged with murder for killing a man Friday at a Windy Hill Road apartment complex—Cobb Police reported.  Marietta Daily Journal

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Cobb County Board certified the special election results from April 29, with Erick Allen winning District 2 and Monique Sheffield winning District 4. Superior Court Judge Robert Flournoy swore in Allen—he took the oath at the Jennie T. Anderson Theatre in Marietta.  Cobb County Courier

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • RentCafe's report shows that new U.S. apartments now average 908 square feet, reversing a decade-long trend toward smaller units. The study notes that new apartments in Marietta measure 1041 square feet—a 100-square-foot gain over older units, offering more room for residents.  WSB-TV
