On May 1, community leaders, donors, and nonprofit partners gathered at The Foxglove in downtown Marietta for Cobb Community Foundation’s second annual Activate Good event—over 200 guests celebrated more than $6.2 million in local grants and scholarships and a record $811,000 raised by the Match Magic Giveathon.

On May 7, mother Quila Lee, 53, and her daughters, Rakiya Lee, 31, and twins Kamiya and Kalaya Lee, 22, graduated from Georgia State—Quila earned a master’s degree while her daughters received bachelor’s degrees.

Seven Cobb County students were named winners of the 2025 National Merit Scholarship — each set to receive $2,500 to support their college plans.

Six Flags White Water in Marietta will open this Saturday, May 10 for weekend visits until May 18, and summer daily operations will begin on May 24.
