- ➤ Marietta officials are accepting nominations for the 2026 Let Freedom Ring Parade Grand Marshal until Friday, June 5. Nominees must be local residents known for community service and available to lead the July 4 parade at 10 a.m. Cobb County Courier
- ➤ Frank Rycak (one of 80 veterans) joins 79 others in Soldier Ride 250, an adaptive cycling event covering a 250-mile stretch of a 1,000-mile route from Jacksonville to New York that runs May 14 to May 29. 11Alive
- ➤ The Cobb County Courier has featured Lee, a 10-week-old (7 lb) white/brindle American pit bull terrier available for adoption at the Cobb County Animal Services shelter in Marietta. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Cobb County Board approved a contract with Must Ministries on Tuesday to provide cooling shelters, cleaning supplies (and linens), extra security, staff support, food, and vouchers for bus rides and housing for homeless residents.
