- ➤ Mayor Tumlin and officials from Bridger Properties hosted a park party Saturday afternoon at Church Street Park to celebrate its grand opening—local residents gathered to enjoy the new community space. Marietta Daily Journal

- ➤ Fifty-nine new businesses received licenses from Cobb County for operations in its unincorporated areas for the week ending May 16. Cities issue their own licenses—this list covers only those outside city limits. Cobb County Courier
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ The Senior Citizens Council of Cobb is hosting a free patient advocacy event at Sewell Mill Library in Marietta on May 28 from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.—seniors will learn about managing health care, patients' rights, and addressing billing issues. Cobb County Courier
- ➤ The Georgia Department of Public Health released health inspection scores for Cobb County food service establishments from May 9 to May 15—showing scores ranging from 70 to 100 for restaurants, school cafeterias, hotels and other food facilities. These scores were reported for places such as Volcano Steak & Sushi and CHICK-FIL-A and offer a quick look at facility performance. Cobb County Courier

- ➤ The Braves lost 7-6 on Saturday night when Rafael Devers hit a ninth-inning walk-off homer that gave the Boston Red Sox a comeback win and snapped their four-game losing streak. The Braves had built a 5-0 lead early in the game—Boston rallied with key hits in the 7th and 8th innings. 11Alive
- ➤ Atlanta United lost 1—0 at home to Philadelphia on May 18 when Tai Baribo scored a penalty after keeper Brad Guzan misplayed the ball—this marked their eighth game without a win and left them near the bottom of the Eastern Conference. The team will face FC Cincinnati next Sunday. 11Alive
