CRIME NEWS

  • A driver was hospitalized and will face charges after he crashed his car into a Cobb County home on the 1500 block of Blanche Drive early May 20, knocking part of the foundation off—no one in the home was injured.  Fox 5 Atlanta

  • 1885 Grill, a two-story brick and stone restaurant noted for its Southern charm and creative dishes like a unique pecan pie bread pudding, impressed diners with its warm service and flavorful offerings — it was honored by the Cobb Chamber of Commerce as the 2025 Small Business of the Year.  Cobb County Courier

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Earlier this year, Cobb Collaborative won the Georgia Reads Community Award and received a $25,000 grant to support literacy programs in Cobb County—recognizing its three years of progress in improving reading skills. The group celebrated at Austell Elementary School with over 350 students and local leaders including Mayor Ollie Clemons, Jr.—keeping local education and community partnership strong.  Cobb County Courier

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Kennesaw State University received the Overall Community Improvement Award from Keep Cobb Beautiful at the Cobb County Sustainability Forum and Expo held at Jim Miller Park on April 30.
