East Cobb Quilters Guild — a local group — collected over 1,100 handmade quilts, stuffed animals, and items Friday morning to aid those in need.
The goods will be shared with local families this week.
Cobb County hosts several events this weekend + farmers markets at Logan Farm Park and Marietta Square, a goalball tournament in Smyrna starting Friday at 1:00 p.m., and a tribute concert at Marietta Square on Friday at 8:00 p.m.

Mountain View Regional Library will host Dino Discovery Day on Thursday, June 25 at 11 a.m. where children ages 3 to 12 can enjoy dinosaur stories, craft dinosaur eggs and explore fossil excavations, with a parent required.
Marietta City Schools’ Chief Financial Officer Erin Franklin celebrated her retirement on Friday after nearly 20 years with the district.
Her retirement marks a significant chapter in local education.
Two Marietta residents earned the valedictorian and salutatorian honors at SCAD Atlanta's graduation, marking strong local representation in the class of 2026.
