- ➤ A man crossing Powder Springs Street was hit by two vehicles—a 2020 Mercedes Benz and a 2015 Nissan—just before midnight Monday, and he was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries while police investigate the incident. WSB-TV
- ➤ Marietta man Mahmoud Mohammed Osman (32) is accused of causing vehicular homicide by operating his 2012 Chevrolet Silverado recklessly under the influence of alcohol, THC and fentanyl. Marietta Daily Journal
- ➤ Chad Allen Arnold, 37, of Albany was accused of entering the Circle K gas station at 1230 Cobb Parkway N. in Marietta with a rifle—he fired six shots during his attempted robbery. Marietta Daily Journal
- ➤ Alex Ross, a former Walton County Sheriff’s Deputy, is accused of punching three women at the Georgia Peace Officer Standards & Training Council Office in Austell—two of the victims are police officers and one suffered a fractured facial bone—while all three were hospitalized. WSB-TV
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Health officials said tomatoes labeled as Williams Farms Repack and H&C Farms sold in Georgia were recalled due to a deadly salmonella risk that could cause serious illness for young children, seniors, and those with weakened immune systems—consumers were advised to discard or return the product for a refund after tomatoes distributed from April 23 to April 28 were linked to the issue.
