Georgia taxpayers may be eligible for up to $500 in a surplus tax refund even if they did not live in the state full time if they filed individual income returns for 2023 and 2024 by May 1—or October 15 with an extension—with the refund amount based on the taxes paid in 2023.
Melanie Dallas, a licensed professional counselor and CEO of Highland Rivers Behavioral Health, noted that in 2023 nearly 14 million men nationwide went without mental health treatment as only 46% received help.
She urged men and their families to seek crisis support and professional care — emphasizing that mental illness is treatable.
