- ➤ A Better Today Books + Boutique in Marietta has launched a summer reading program for families running from June 25th to July 25th. Owner Dr. Viola Lanier picked a list of engaging books and the store will host daily reading sessions for kids during business hours. WSB-TV

- ➤ Marietta fire crews responded Monday night to arson fires at Atlanta Luxury Motors on Cobb Parkway South where two pickup trucks burned and at Unlimited Auto Group where three vehicles were damaged; the Georgia Arson Control Board offers up to $10,000 for tips on a man seen walking on Cobb Parkway and asks anyone with information to call 770-794-5458 or 1-800-282-5804. - ➤ Marietta City Council approved $1.39 million in grants for local arts, culture & tourism organizations on Wednesday during its committee meetings. Marietta Daily Journal
- ➤ Eric Pinckney from Integral updated The Take on demolition progress at the former Wellstar AMC site and said redevelopment plans are facing community pushback—local residents voiced concerns about the site's future. 11Alive
- ➤ Cobb County will hold public hearings on its proposed FY 2026 budget at Board of Commissioners meetings on July 8 at 9 a.m., July 16 at 6:30 p.m., and July 22 at 7 p.m. The $132.5 billion plan, which boosts employee costs by over $49 million from last year, recommends steady millage rates and staff raises of 2 to 5% — with only a few new positions planned.
