- ➤ West Cobb Regional Library will host a range of July events that include youth dance sessions and Dungeons and Dragons games along with a free family concert by Required Reeds on July 18 at 11:00 a.m.—a Tea and Talk book discussion on July 24 at 2:00 p.m. about James by Percival Everett also is scheduled. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Starting July 1, drivers can use a digital ID on their phones during traffic stops — though physical IDs remain required for voting and obtaining boating and hunting licenses. Law enforcement agencies must equip scanners by July 2027 to verify digital IDs. 11Alive
- ➤ At a funeral held Saturday, State Rep. Park Cannon proposed Adriana’s Law to protect pregnant patients’ rights after Adriana Smith was kept on life support until her baby was safely delivered on June 13—lawmakers will consider the bill to clarify medical decisions during pregnancy in the wake of Smith’s case. 11Alive
- ➤ Officer K-9 Argo retired on Thursday after nine years of service with Cobb County Police. Argo and his handler, Sgt. B.K. Moore, were deployed nearly 900 times+ they helped track suspects and seized more than $700,000 in narcotics and drug money. 11Alive
