  • Authorities are searching for 79-year-old Charles Ellis with dementia — he was last seen Saturday afternoon driving his silver Kia Optima on I-75/85 south near Highway 166.  11Alive

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Cobb County issued 61 new business licenses for companies in unincorporated areas last week ending June 27. The licenses covered a range of industries—from barber shops to health care—and showed steady growth in local business activity.  Cobb County Courier

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Marietta conservation leader Jim Bearden — known as 'The Bluebird Guy' — has led a 13-year effort to protect wildlife in West Cobb and earned respect from the regional nature community. He continues to support new conservation projects and inspire local residents.  Marietta Daily Journal

HEALTH NEWS

  • On June 29, the Georgia Department of Public Health released health inspection scores for Cobb County food service facilities inspected from June 20 to June 26. Scores ranged from 69 to 100 with examples including Rotana Restaurant in Marietta scoring 92 and multiple outlets earning perfect scores — indicating varying compliance levels.  Cobb County Courier

  • Workers will begin demolishing the AMC site tomorrow to clear the 22-acre campus for a new development that will include homes and shops—plans for other amenities have not yet been disclosed.  11Alive
