- ➤ Officials announced that the pedestrian bridge linking Cobb Galleria Centre — Cumberland Mall reopened on July 8 after a $2.1 million renovation that included painting, sandblasting, and enhancements; elevator modernization is expected to complete by Friday. The bridge opens in time for MLB Capital One All-Star Village festivities at the Galleria from July 12-15, with the game at Truist Park scheduled for 8:00 p.m. on July 15. Cobb County Courier
- ➤ Jade is a three-month-old female tabby/calico kitten sheltering at Cobb County Animal Services in Marietta—located at 1060 Al Bishop Drive—and she is in need of a permanent loving home. - ➤ A 10-year-old east Cobb boy was reunited this week with the firefighters and paramedics who saved his life. Marietta Daily Journal

- ➤ Cobb Police said kids were rescued from a hot car in Cumberland when the temperature reached 87° outside — the car's interior hit 117° making it dangerous. 11Alive
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ On June 4, officers rescued a little boy and girl from a car at Cumberland Mall when temperatures reached 117 degrees—afterward, a Snellville man was charged with two counts of felony child cruelty for leaving them alone, with his bond set at $10,000 before his release. Fox 5 Atlanta

- ➤ Master Gardener Volunteers of Cobb County will host free pollinator counting sessions at nine demonstration gardens on August 22nd and 23rd — families will spend 15 minutes watching pollinators and reporting their findings for conservation research.
