Several Kroger locations in metro Atlanta closed early today (customers are advised to check local hours), causing unexpected schedule changes for shoppers.

Marietta-based Georgia Symphony Orchestra announced that Rebecca Strojan Weaver became board chair effective July 1 — a change from Michael Knowles — and Music Director Timothy Verville signed a two-year contract extension to lead the group through the 2026-2027 concert season.

Marietta City Schools introduced a Big Blue Bus this week to help close accessibility gaps — officials hope the bus will make it easier for students and families to reach school services.

The Cobb County School Board voted 4—3 to stop broadcasting public comments at its meetings, saying board members worry that online ridicule and doxxing keep citizens from speaking up.

The board will keep its current afternoon and evening sessions so that people can share their views directly.
