- ➤ West Cobb Regional Library will host a family-friendly cooking class on Saturday, August 2nd at 11:00 led by Taiwanese national Loyee Ling—teaching patrons how to make Chinese dumplings from scratch. The class will precede the library’s Pokémon Club meeting on Monday, August 4th at 3:30 p.m. Cobb County Courier

- ➤ Kenneth G. Akpieyi of Marietta was convicted on three federal charges for running a romance scam that stole over $3M from victims—he used the alias Phillip Anderson and his home as a hub to move funds between banks. Fox 5 Atlanta
- ➤ Cobb County Superior Court Clerk Connie Taylor was indicted by a grand jury on charges of destruction of public records and violation of oath of office—county officials maintained the independent office will continue serving residents as the process unfolds. WSB-TV

- ➤ North Cobb Regional Library has planned creative art sessions and book discussions for working adults and parents this August; The Art Experience will run on August 12 and August 13 at 6:00 p.m. while Monthly Makers is set for August 16 at 11:00 a.m. (space is limited for some events).
