- ➤ Marietta Councilman Carlyle Kent held a town hall this week—featuring presentations by the new postmaster on reforms and the artist behind the mural on the corner of Lemon and Cole—where officials discussed plans to update the post office and unveil the new artwork. Marietta Daily Journal
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Melanie Dallas, CEO of Highland Rivers Behavioral Health, said the new school year brings challenges for students facing mental health and learning issues. She noted that the Georgia Apex program places clinicians in over 60 local schools — helping children and families during this transition. Cobb County Courier
- ➤ The Georgia Department of Public Health released health inspection scores for Cobb County food service facilities from August 1st to 7th—scores ranged from 71 to 100 for restaurants, school cafeterias and hotels. The report shows that many establishments met the required standards, offering local patrons clear guidance on food safety. Cobb County Courier

- ➤ Registration for the Marietta Youth Basketball program is now open at Custer Park Sports & Fitness Center (545 Kenneth E. Marcus Way) for boys and girls ages 6 to 15, with practices beginning the week of September 29 and games set to start on November 8. Cobb County Courier
