Cobb County Courier introduced Part 1 (the inaugural quiz) of a daily series testing residents’ knowledge of local performing arts, including music, drama, opera and ballet.
The quiz offers links to historical background, inviting locals to learn more about their community’s cultural scene.

Kennesaw State University professor Erik Malewski received a national lifetime award for curriculum, teaching and mentorship—his honor will be presented in October at the national conference.

The GDOT ended the planned I-285 closure in Cobb and Fulton counties early.
Work began Friday at 8 p.m. + it was scheduled to run until 5 a.m. Monday until cameras showed traffic on Sunday night.

The Georgia Department of Public Health released health inspection scores for Cobb County food facilities from July 31 to August 6, showing many Marietta spots earning scores from 80 to 100 (Planet Smoothie received an 87 and Kumo Hibachi Sushi an 80).

The Cobb County Courier's Cat of the Day features Twilight, a 1-year-old grey tabby/white domestic short hair now available for adoption at the shelter on 1060 Al Bishop Drive in Marietta.
