- ➤ On Sunday, Nafeeza Samad drove her silver Acura into Dundee Lake at Dundee Lake Park, critically injuring a 3-year-old and facing charges for DUI, reckless driving and child safety seat violations—while a witness swam to help despite her own health struggles. 11Alive

GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ At today's meeting, Cobb County commissioners will vote on an $850,000 plan to add four pickleball courts at Oregon Park in Marietta (it will also improve ADA access and add a restroom). The project will expand the park from six to ten courts as part of the fiscal 2025 budget. WSB-TV
- ➤ Cobb County officials announced plans to upgrade the 911 emergency response system to improve service in Marietta and nearby communities. The upgrades will go into effect soon—county planners said they aim to boost local public safety. 11Alive
