  • Cobb County Public Library’s Accessibility Services Department and Lapapoe will host Disability and Dialogue on August 29 from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Charles D. ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Cadet Captain Aiden Decastro and Field Training Officer Cadet Alexander Rodas of the Cobb County Sheriff’s Office were honored for their quick actions after witnessing a car accident on Aug. 2 on Macland Road in Marietta—they called for help, moved victims to safety amid a hazardous oil leak, and comforted a crying baby.  WSB-TV

CRIME NEWS

  • Cobb County deputies tried to serve a warrant at a home on Vinings Retreate Pass SW—where a person fled into the house and held a family member against their will—and later released the family member, though the suspect remains inside as SWAT works for a peaceful resolution.  11Alive
  • Daryl Lakeith Hackworth, 43, of Marietta is accused of throwing a rock to break the glass window of the Smoke 41 store at 349 Cobb Parkway—he faces charges for the incident.  Marietta Daily Journal
