A 1911 article showed that Belmont Farm's thriving poultry business brought rapid growth to Smyrna, evolving it from a small stop into a lively town.
The farm (located just half a mile north) attracted many new residents and businesses thanks to its good quality chickens.
Cobb County will reconstruct the historic Power-Jackson Cabin after experts completed a detailed review on Wednesday.
The project will restore one of the county's oldest structures and reinforce local heritage.

The inaugural Cumberland Arts Festival will take place Oct.
17-18 at Galleria Gardens in the Cumberland area. The festival will feature local art, live entertainment, food vendors, and a Kid Zone for families +artists and vendors must apply by late August or early September+.
The Cobb International Festival celebrated cultures from around the globe at Jim Miller Park in Marietta on Saturday, drawing local community members to enjoy international food and music.
It marked the return of the popular event.
