- ➤ Marietta’s Cobb County Animal Services shelter features Queso—a one-year-old, 12-lb, male ginger tabby/white domestic short hair cat available for adoption with appointments preferred though walk-ins are welcome at 1060 Al Bishop Drive. Cobb County Courier
- ➤ Neighbors in Cobb County have voiced concerns about an overgrown property owned by James Medlin after repeated inspections documented trash, stray cats and rat problems. Code enforcement officials have conducted 60 inspections over nearly 20 years—neighbors recorded nearly 30 stray cats—and the owner claims limited funds prevent him from fully maintaining the yard. - ➤ On Wednesday, the City of South Fulton held its annual 9/11 remembrance ceremony — the event honored first responders with a theme of Beyond the Call of Duty and recognized officers such as Capt. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Kennesaw State University researcher Bobin Deng received an NSF grant to test a method that uses activation sparsity — a process that activates only needed AI parts — so everyday devices can run artificial intelligence without relying on heavy cloud computing. He is working on the Marietta Campus to develop an open-source simulator that will let devices like phones and drones run AI even without an internet connection. Cobb County Courier
