  • On September 14, 2025, the Cobb County Courier moved its weekend quiz on Marietta topics to its main website and expanded it to ten questions to test local knowledge—readers can click links to explore the answers further.   • Marietta PAL will hold its 2nd Annual Fall Festival — Family Fun House on September 26th from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Hugh L. Grogan Jr. Community Center, where the free event will include games, food, costumed characters, prizes, and local vendor showcases led by the PAL youth leadership team.  Cobb County Courier

ECONOMY NEWS

  • On September 4, Cobb County International Airport – McCollum Field celebrated its 65th anniversary, marking its growth from a small airfield to a busy aviation hub with over 110,000 flight operations and nearly 1,000 jobs. The airport will upgrade its control tower, LED runway lighting and open a new passenger terminal early next year.  Cobb County Courier

SPORTS NEWS

  • Ozzie Albies drove in three runs with two hits including a go-ahead two-run single as the Braves beat the Astros 8-3 on Sunday at Truist Park. Sandy León hit his first home run in over two years and Matt Olson added a homer—ending Houston’s six-game win streak and keeping the series close.  WSB-TV
  • College football games in Georgia produced big wins on Saturday—Georgia Tech upset Clemson 24 to 21 with a 55 yard field goal while Georgia won 44 to 41 in overtime. Other programs including Kennesaw State and West Georgia also posted victories.  11Alive
