ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Drought returned to metro Atlanta on September 18 as some counties entered Level 1 drought while the rest of the area stayed abnormally dry, affecting streamflow and farming. Farmers in southwest Georgia face hard times with peanuts and cattle at risk from low water levels—experts say some rain next week might bring relief but dry conditions could continue into winter.  11Alive
