  • The Cobb County Courier Dog of the Day in Marietta features Emma, a 5 month old chocolate Labrador retriever from the Cobb County Animal Services shelter at 1060 Al Bishop Drive. The shelter now prefers scheduled visits while accepting walk-ins for those interested in giving Emma a forever home.  Cobb County Courier
  • Students in Marietta participated in the 5th annual Marietta Adapted Games today — the event featured adapted sports competitions that promoted teamwork and skill.  11Alive

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Cobb County DOT said its team of 30 maintenance workers faced delays from heavy storms that caused flooded roads, downed trees, and a month-long gap in mowing. The department will use digital route maps + progress dashboards to catch up on road maintenance by the end of October.  WSB-TV
  • Dr. Jaha Howard—a pediatric dentist and community leader in Cobb County—announced his candidacy for the November 18 special election for Senate District 35. His campaign will focus on boosting healthcare, supporting small businesses, and improving affordable housing.  Cobb County Courier

  • Oreo is a 1-year-old female black/white domestic medium hair cat available for adoption at Cobb County Animal Services in Marietta—shelter staff prefer scheduled appointments but welcome walk-ins.
