Two Kennesaw State University chemistry alumni, Mary Smith and Anthony London, used research as a springboard to start industry jobs in Marietta after graduating in May.

Smith worked as a laboratory chemist with UL Solutions and London served as an analytical chemist with imat-uve (using HPLC and GC-MS) (skills gained in the lab opened doors for their careers).

Cobb County officials said that on Nov 12 the South Cobb Water Reclamation Facility spilled 21.59 million gallons of treated wastewater into the Chattahoochee River—daily tests confirm the disinfected flow will not affect the county’s drinking water system.
