CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Police say a domestic dispute at a Marietta home escalated into a SWAT standoff on the 1600 block of Cunningham Road when a suspect barricaded inside the residence — officers later took them into custody. Fox 5 Atlanta
- ➤ Authorities arrested two convicted sex offenders—Demetrius Houston and Christopher Kaufmann—for living too near a daycare and community pool, and the Cobb County Sheriff’s Sex Offender Unit said it is cracking down on rule violations. WSB-TV
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ North Cobb Regional Library is hosting May events including weekly Craft and Chat sessions from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesdays and a Sewing a Robe class on May 7th that requires participants to bring supplies—offering creative and book discussion opportunities for locals. Kemp signed two major bills—one at the Capitol at 1 p.m. on Monday and another at the TCSG Leadership Summit at 3:30 p.m.—that aimed to strengthen Georgia's workforce and support students, families and educators.
