If you caught the Falcons on Sunday, you saw a strange one. The Buccaneers beat Atlanta 16-0 in the rain at Raymond James Stadium, and Baker Mayfield didn't complete a pass. Tampa Bay is the first team to finish with zero completions since Buffalo on Sept. 29, 1974.

Bucky Irving ran for 170 yards and Kenny Gainwell for 140 as Tampa Bay ran for a franchise-record 324 yards. Atlanta managed 99. Michael Penix Jr. went 8 for 24 for 125 yards with four interceptions, after throwing one all season. "It's probably the craziest game I have ever been a part of," safety Jessie Bates III said.

Braves Matt Olson and Mauricio Dubón each win a Gold Glove

Two Braves won Rawlings Gold Glove Awards on Sunday night: first baseman Matt Olson, for the fourth time, and utilityman Mauricio Dubón, for the third. They're Atlanta's first duo to win in the same year since Max Fried and Dansby Swanson in 2022.

Olson's glove work by the numbers

162
games Olson played, leading first basemen in innings
12
outs above average for Olson, tops among first basemen
11
defensive runs saved by Olson, second among first basemen
944
consecutive regular-season games Olson has played

Olson beat out Ty France of the Padres and T.J. Rumfield of the Rockies. Dubón, a free agent, bested Jared Triolo of the Pirates and Ildemaro Vargas of the Diamondbacks. He's the first Atlanta player to win the utility award since it began in 2022.

Deer season

The Georgia Department of Natural Resources says deer breeding season runs from October through late December, depending on the location. Deer are especially active around dawn and dusk, which can overlap with commutes as daylight saving time ends, so we suggest slowing down then, since deer often travel in groups. WSB-TV

The Wrap

Smyrna has a covered bridge that's almost two centuries old: the Concord Covered Bridge. It's 131 feet long. The site dates to around 1840, and the bridge has survived arson, floods and the passage of time. One horror novelist says trips across it sparked an enduring love of all things that go bump in the night. Still creepy-cool after Halloween.
