If you're voting in Cobb on Tue., Nov. 3, a federal observer may be at a polling place near you. The Justice Department notified Cobb and five other counties that it will station monitors there on Election Day. Georgia's Secretary of State's office says that's nothing unusual.
The office's records show DOJ sent observers to the same counties in 2024. Gwinnett's acting elections supervisor, Kelvin Williams, told WSB-TV that voters "will likely not notice these individuals at the polling locations."
- Counties: Bibb, Cobb, Chatham, DeKalb, Fulton, Gwinnett
- WSB-TV asked DOJ how it picks counties: no reply
- Statewide early voting turnout: 28%, more than 2 million voters

Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger called the federal presence normal and said observers may wear golf shirts. President Donald Trump defended the plan: "They're not going to do anything other than watch."
